We need an English-fluent PART-TIME Senior Ruby on Rails Consultant, based in Argentina or Colombia, available to work remotely.
We are looking for someone with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, who embraces changes while maintaining strong attention to detail. An interested and proactive person, who's constantly learning and improving their skills.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in client discovery and technical assessment meetings as the lead Ruby on Rails subject matter expert.
- Analyze existing Ruby on Rails applications, architecture, and codebases to identify risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities.
- Lead system takeover assessments and evaluate legacy applications.
- Develop technical roadmaps, modernization strategies, and implementation recommendations.
- Provide architectural guidance for cloud-native and serverless environments hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Evaluate current infrastructure, deployment processes, and application performance.
- Recommend best practices for maintainability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Produce technical documentation, architecture recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Support engineering teams throughout project planning and execution phases when required.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails development experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Ruby on Rails architecture, design patterns, and application development.
- Proven experience conducting technical audits, system takeovers, and legacy application assessments.
- Strong experience creating technical roadmaps, modernization strategies, and architectural recommendations.
- Deep understanding of serverless architectures and cloud-native application design.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including: Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Serverless deployment and operations and Monitoring and scalability best practices.
- Experience reviewing and optimizing existing application architectures.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, application scalability, and system performance.

Business-fluent English with excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to confidently present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication skills.
It's a plus:
- Experience serving as a technical consultant, solutions architect, or lead engineer in client-facing environments.
- Previous experience leading application modernization or migration initiatives.
- Familiarity with multiple frontend architectures and integrations (React experience is not required).
- Experience working with distributed and remote teams
Compensation:
- The Salary range offered for this part-time (20H/W) position varies from (USD) $1,800 - $2,000 per month, depending on seniority and skillset.
- TThis is a one-month project with the possibility of an extension based on business needs.
- This position is for an independent contractor, through a payroll platform.
- The talent will work REMOTELY allocated at our client.
